Now this is becoming interesting :).

DOpus can do this by itself (install on a stick), but with this Ceedo you can do a lot more.

I used to have a U3 stick that was the first iteration of this and now use PortableApps, but the fact that Ceedo can shut everything down is nice.

I have been using portable apps for Open Office and VLC player for a few years now.
Years and years ago, I was using a crack of LW7.0 that would run off the thumbdrive. I could use it on any computer at work even though I couldn't install software because IT has all the priveledges locked down.

To be clear...I don't condone cracked software and this was years ago and even then my workplace owned a licensed seat (on a non IT computer) and I owned a personal copy. I didn't consider this use piracy or stealing per se. (although I'm sure others may differ in opinion.)

And even up until now with 9.6 as long as the dongle drivers are installed on a machine and you have the dongle with you you can run LightWave off a stick.

i'm sure many owners of Lightwave does this...
nothing wrong with that as long as you own a legit copy... :]
