Hi I,m trying to export a mesh animation-deformation to 3dmax but I donīt know how. I know max uses PC2 and LW mdd. Is it posible to export pc2 from LW or import mdd directly into max?
Thanks in advance

I have a win32 version of a standalone
Pointcache Scan displacement plugin
for baking a mesh in Layout and writing
a pointcache "pc2" file,
but I never tested it for exporting to 3DMax,
could fail, I don't know if the point order
of the imported lwo file in max is modified,

So let me know.

Denis.

Unluckily when I import the pc2 file the mesh is detroyed. The point count is correct but somehow it does not respect the position. Iīm not an expert in max so may be Iīm doing something wrong, Iīll keep on trying.
Thanks!

I spoke rather of the point order of the object
which could be modified while it is imported in 3DMax,
lwo or obj format,
but PC2 could be also coded differently on different
platform/software, I worked with a sample file
exported from Blender from a python script,
If you are able to export a simple object
from 3DMax (readable in LW) with a baked PC2 file,
I could study it.

I made a test with a Pc2mdd exporter for Modo,
seems that the my PC2 file baked by Pointcache_Scan
is correct, but the sample rate was wrong,
I fixed it and re-uploaded the Pointcache_Scan plugin.
