View Full Version : Can you exclude lights/cameras from FBX/Collada export?

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of LW to export an FBX file from layout. However, I do not want the exported FBX file to contain the lights and cameras in my scene. Is there a way to prevent the lights/cameras from showing up in the FBX file?

If not, does anyone know of a good utility (other than a text editor :)) that I could use to strip unwanted items out of the exported FBX?

Thanks

EDIT: By the way...didn't mean to add the Thumb Down icon...accidentally added it to the post somehow

The old Autodesk FBX plug-in gave you the option to exclude these items. The last version was 6.0.2 and you can download it from their website (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=8229299). Be advised that it only runs in x32 Lightwave, and being such an old plug-in there may be other issues. (It was written for LW 8.2 but it sort of still works with the current LW 9.6.)

You can use DAE Notepad to edit/validate/fix COLLADA documents.
Makes it really easy to remove unwanted nodes
