I'm relatively new to using the LW particle system in LW 9.6. I've read through the documentation, which has not shed any light on my question. So, I pose it here in the forum.

I would like to have the option to use the particle system to enable me to shower a scene with LW geometric objects as opposes to HyperVoxels. If I make a gemstone and want gemstones emitting from a fountain, that grow and behave as a partigon would, I've not discovered any way to do so.

Also, while I can turn on the particle IDs, there's nothing that says why I'd want to do so. Does this provide some means of attaching an object to a particle ID?

I also thought about the save motion option in the particle system with the idea I could load it back in as I would an animation motion, but again no documentation of apparent ability to do so.

If anyone has any suggestion to this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it.

FX Linker might be the answer you're looking for...

There is also a way with nodes, but this one is easier if you are beginner.

http://soldierwithin2.home.comcast.net/~soldierwithin2/runway_lights.mov

its EXTREMELY easy. do yourself a favor and learn it. its way more flexible than the LW way as well.

This tutorial is a bit dated, but I found very useful for a variety of topics including objects as particles:
