Speed Modeling Challenge #103 - Top of my Santa List.
*************************************************
Rules:

1. Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modeling times is essential. How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.
2. Post a render of your model (min 800x600 pixels) in this thread with a wireframe.
3. LightWave should be used for modeling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.
4. You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.
5. Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.

*************************************************

It's that time of year again. What's on your list? An ipad? an xbox? an Audi R8? a new wife? You get the idea.

Original wishes might just come true..........

- Top of my Santa List. -

What's on my list can't be modeled in just 60 minutes :hey:
That is, I can't...

Sooo, what's up guys? Has the previous challenge worn you all out?

My entry will be up soon enough, finished modeling it, just trying to get a good render out.

So here's my entry. I went a little over the time limit, some boolean errors required too much tweaking/fiddling. Still wanted to contribute to the challenge though. Its not top of my list, but its one of the few I thought I could get done in the time limit. I really like these retro style radios, some are really wild, but I quite liked this one's understated look.

Hehe, we're probably all gonna need that after Christmas dinner. :)

Rerendered my scene, I prefer the lime variant they offer, at least in this scene I do.

Really nice entries guys. Very clean modelling as always Nigel
XSwampyX, some things are best kept to yourself mate :D

I'm probably not going to have time for a decent entry this week or next but I'll get something done.

That's again some great modeling! I fear I wont make it either. Perhaps another week extra?

Another week sounds possible.

My 5 minute effort (top of my stocking filler list anyway).........

If anyone wants more time, we can extend this one.

Unfortunately, I'm up to my eyes so can't get anything else done.

I bought one of these about a month ago... 45.00

If I didn't already have one, It would be at the top of my list.

Thanks! It's a great tool to use.

Here it is larger, with a bit more spec on the tablet and the subpatch level turned up to 8.

Edit for the wires.

This actually would make the top of my list. Unfortunately, my wife, eh Santa doesn't always prioritise things the way I do.

Not managed to do a lot in the hour and it's barely textured due to lack of free time but I'll finish it up later I hope..........

Oooooh.....a retro style camera.......sexy

Thanks Kuzey. I'll try and finish it off as I know I won't be getting one!

Anyway, there haven't been many entries again but the few we had were all excellent.
It's a tough call but I'd have to give this one to XSwampyX for his tight and efficient tablet and pen entry.

Congrats mate. And thanks for your prolific and consistently top quality entries

(Oh and the downside is you now have the next two challenges to come up with!)

:foreheads Doh! *takes foot out of mouth*

I didn't mean that... The radio is FANTASTIC. as is the camera. But they were over time.... so don't count?

I will keep quiet...

Naa...they're just guidelines, as long as they weren't overtime by a lot...say 10 minutes plus, then they should be fine...but that's always up to the judge at the time :D

PS.....well done
