with all respect, lightwave should keep an eye on C4D, I used LW3D from version 4 to currently use 9.6, but I my little the eyes are shifting to the other corner! Check! (for the new next version)

I never liked C4D's 'tag' based system, but for things like that tutorial you can see where it works well. Probbaly why it's used a lot for motion graphics, where you want things to remain 'live' throughout the process.

here's my thoughts on cinema4d

base version (700) should have the advanced renderer with it and not as a 300 add on.
Full studio version should be LESS not more than the full version of 3dsmax, maya and softimage.

updating the core module should NOT break all the other add on modules...they should still work.

subs per year should not cost 200% more than subs for 3dsmax [which also give you toxik compositing app]

until they attend to these oddities it'll stay where it is...untried, not bought, not used.

there are positives in cinema4d core version...your getting similar workflow to that of 3dsmax/maya for just 700
but there's just a poo renderer in there with no gi/radiosity and just basic animation tools...

if i HAD to choose between cienema4d core and modo...it would be a tough choice.
