View Full Version : Animation challenge anyone

Having just watched Jeff Lews http://www.jefflew.com/apw1.html
Power and weight tutorial (which are as affordable as some lw training as they come so support his tuts)
I wonder if we can have something similar to the modelling challenges. Some short animation exercises with a standard simple character rig like Jeff Lews Orc and focus more on animating than having uber complex rigs.
I don't know why CA is not so mainstream in lw, what he does in maya except for his experience as an animator, the rig itself is simple but the animation is good. I say good because I suck in animation and only edit mocap in projects all the time. :D
So anyone interested?

I'm in.
Though a pre-rigged thingy would be cool, even a very simple one, so folks dont get bogged up with the rigging phase and get frustrated/bored right in the beginning.

Maybe we can use the adam rig or one of rebelhills free rigs floating around newtek.

Allright, what is the shallange? I would vote for some quick action or a series of actions.
We could start with running or walking. Perhaps. What do you think?

Jeff Lews lesson was an orc swinging a mace. Seems liike a good exercise to start. :D
