The company I work for just upgraded to LightWave 9.6 and they need a old project redone in HD that was previously made in LightWave 8 many years ago. The scene along with the objects opened fine in 9.6 but the QuickTime movie files I used as surfaces had a problem. Lightwave wouldn't recognize them at all. There aren't even place holders that will let me swap new types of video in.

Is there a plug-in out there that will allow LightWave 9.6 to work with QuickTime files?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you trying to use the 64bit version of LW? QTs don't work in 64.

Try breaking out the Quicktimes into image sequences? Then use the image sequences rather than Quicktimes. Maybe that will give you a workaround.

I wonder what would happen if you replaced the qt file with a jpg and gave it a the same name including the extension. Use that as a place holder. Doesn't the replace file work in the image editor?
