I used to buy Dells until I realized that upgrading them was near impossible since they use their own proprietary parts. This doesn't encourage me to go back anymore.

It's mostly the PSU's which can be bought from PC Power and Cooling...Apple do exactly the same. That's what happens when you buy a complete system, the components are designed to work together for increased stability rather than upgradability...unless you go for something like a BOXX

I'm sure DELL only did what was best for the consumer.... err.... um... I mean stockholder... And people actually argue that corporations ever have the best interest of the people in mind? meh.....
