View Full Version : ? on baking - How do you get bones baked in to polys?

Is there a way to merge animation in bone deformation to polys and kill the bones but keep the animations? I don't think baking IK does it... The reason that I'm wanting to do this is to get a .x export to work with animation (dstorm plugin), and I don't think that that exporter can do bones but can do other animation (translate, rotate, etc). I need to use the bones since I'm working the animation in Motion Builder and exporting as fbx from there... I want to be able to basically convert the boned structure back in to polys/points that can then be keyframed inside of layout (to clean up parts where there's weirdness) and exported with animation as .x

that doesn't work for the animated x with deforms.
