View Full Version : Volumetric light oddness

I'm working on a scene for a "temple" interior. The scene has volumetric lights coming in from holes in the ceiling of the room, and everything looks good so far, execept for one thing; as the camera approaches one of the volumetric light beams, the beam disappears.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I don't think I've ever had this problem but it sounds like maybe a clipping problem.

I would first of all make sure your not using sprite mode for the light. Then in the display options ("d") turn on and adjust your "Fixed near clip distance" at the top of the panel.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out as soon as Lightwave finishes rendering the scene it's currently doing :)

are you using "Enable Texture" option?
All your Textures, in this case, must have te "World Coordinates" modes on, this prevent quite all problems with Volumetric Lights!

Sorry... forgot the attach!

It clearly seems a bug in the evaluation of the Texture expecially evident when you have the "Texture Only" option ON (like in this case).
