there is a longtime error in the ui of the light settings that causes a lot of confusion :

If you click in the lights exclude list to exclude Raydiosity it only disables RECEIVE Raydiosity, which is wrong. If you click to exclude a light its completly off, same should happen with Raydiosity, so it should switch off RECEIVE and SEND Raydisosity. Additionally in the objects panel there should be two buttons, one for switching off RECEIVE Raydiosity and one for switching off SEND Raydiosity.

Switching off "send radiosity" is actually in the visibility properties, right underneath visibility to rays. Turn that one off as well and you get the same results as when turning it off to a regular light.

How can a light receive radiosity?

Thats true, but not logical. I think that the light exclude list should be without raydiosity, but instead two buttons in the property panel.

There are 3 parameters
a) Exclude from Radiosity shading
b) Exclude from Radiosity calculation
c) Exclude from light visibility

They are placed right caused they are different.
Placing them together causes confusion
Merging them is a crime.
