Here's a scene I am entering in a (mecha) competition over at http://www.designtraders.com/forum/album.php all other mecha builders invited....

Looks pretty cool, although the legs seem really "flat", like beams with red and white texture. Maybe it looks different in higher quality...

Thanks. The legs are actually pretty thin. The forced perspective is stretching then even thinner.

I'ld say the shading is more at fault. The ambiant light is making it loose all sense of depth. I'm having a hard time figuring out the detailed shape of the mech on the left. I would play with your lighting rig some more, and maybe darken the metal color a bit more. I like the look tho, that antenae thingie on its arm just looks really cool to me for some reason :D

The invasion is growing. Was thinking of adding a reptilian alien under the mechas foot. The machines are invading it's planet?

Realized I should have posted the last images in the WIP section.

The first image I posted was a finished piece. Then it just started off again.
