I have allot of large files I send with 3D animations but I don't own compressor. Is there a way to do the same thing for my Mac without spending $1000 or more on it??

I just use tar and gzip to make .tgz files. I use ffmpeg to make mpeg files. All free. What filetypes are you talking about.

Well, I add my animations in After Effects and the .mov file is 300MB large that need to be compressed like Compressor does. I need that kind of flexibility but I'm not sure if there is anything out there that is free for that type of thing.

I've just started playing around with HandBrake (http://handbrake.fr/) and so far I'm impressed with the results.
