Hello everyone,
I have to prepare packaging in transparent foil. I have no idea how begin. Assumptions of the project are: the foil should be transparent, with alpha channel to cutting and move to any background.

If anyone did something like this?

I would just texture it. How much detail do you need? http://www.cgtextures.com/textures.php?t=browse&q=254

You mean something like this? See attachement

You know, the pack is wrapped in foil.

Transparent foil.... Foil is made of aluminium.... Dude, are you trying to kidnap a whale?

If your problem is modelling related, you could give clothFX a try for the foil shape. For surfacing I would start with a transparent material with high spec.

Dictionary :
foil = cellophane = film = coat

Aluminum foil is of course a different thing.

Try modeling the foil roughly, then subdivide it, add some jitter and sub-patch. Use Veins-procedural in bump map and adjust textures.
