NEW VIDEO RELEASE:)

3D Coat 3.5 for Lightwave Users-Auto-Retopology

http://www.learn3dsoftware.com/3dc_35_lightwave_users_auto_retopology.htm

In this videos series we show 3D students how to use 3D Coat and Lightwave 3D together as an easy and functional workflow and pipeline in your 3D projects. Although this video series uses Lightwave 3D as the final output for your 3D Coat work, the concepts and principles used here will work with all the most popular 3D programs like 3D Max, Maya, Softimage, Modo, Cinema 4D and many others.

In this volume on the new Autoretopology tool in 3D Coat 3.5 basic and advanced uses of the Auto-Retopology tool are demonstrated in great depth. Workflow application and pipeline use are shown with regards to how to combine Lightwave's Modeler tools with 3D Coat's standard retopology tool set to correct Auto-Retopology glitches, gotchas, errors and limitations. With the methods included in this video you will learn how create clean retopologized meshes for use in Lightwave or other 3D packages.

The video starts off with how to use the Auto-Retopology tool and then finishes with a full hands on project on a rhinoceros model/mesh that needs to be retopologized and exported to Lightwave 3D.

1. This sounds great! Do you have any sample chapters? I didn't see them on your site?

2. Can't really comment without seeing your videos (maybe 6 hours is the perfect length for what you are communicating?), but one issue I have with many of the videos from other vendors in my collection, is that they are too long and not focused enough.

They amble along, instead of quickly showing the points I need to learn, and don't provide a way to reference each point on paper. Without detailed notes, I might as well have not watched it to begin with, as I'll lose a lot of the techniques quickly.

I generally have to annotate each one on paper, referencing a specific time code, to be able to refer back to the specific part that I need.

And if they run a long time, I often just loose interest in spending the time to find the 'gems' of information hidden inside.

But, very glad you're bringing out this product.

We are about to go through another site move, but we are looking to produce snippits of the videos as FLV or QT files you can access in the store to review before buying. It's a bit of work needless to say, but we are looking to get this done sooner than later.
However our site seems to have come under some form of Denial of Service attack this morning. I guess some people just can't deal with us being around.

Please see this link for details. http://www.battlestarvfx.com/

I don't follow you. Is this 3d Coat Video one of yours? I was under the impression this was a different company that I'd never heard of?

Bummer about the denial of service.

You might check out the forums on http://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm - as a number of years ago he got taken out by a very organized one.

I'm sure folks there (who are very savvy security wise and on internet issues) can help you to trace who is attacking you.

You can also get the FBI involved, I believe - as this is one of those nasty federal crimes that crosses borders.

Anyway, he went thru this, so I bet the folks on the forums can give you some advice. His security podcasts are invaluable anyway.

looks like www.splinegod.com is also getting hit... suspicious coinsidense, is this like a coordinated attack on all three sites?

Sad. There must be some real hate-filled people in the world. They're obviously following events though, so it has to be somebody who frequents these or other boards regularly. I see that certain other boards are untouched. ;)

I sincerely hope that splinegod.com has not been hit , and is a web issue or server moving or the moon sits at the wrong axis , any excuse ,because if it has , that's an ultimate new LOW .

We had already planned to move service providers (that's been in the works for a while) for other reasons (expansion of the sites and services being one of the biggest) but with this happening, I hope it doesn't follow us to the new company that will be hosting our stuff. Back end work on this move will start this weekend. We are going to try and keep it as transparent to the visitors of the site as possible. If we need to be down for any amount of time due to the move, WE will let you know. So don't jump to any conclusions if we do vanish for a short while, it's the move, but that move hasn't started yet, so the stuff thats going on now... well... curious to say the least.

Thanks for sticking in there with us during this time. More videos are coming and a big happy UberCam Package will be released this weekend.
You are all definitely going to want to check that out :)
