Radek Jakubiak doesn't have any ties to IMDB as far as I know, so you got the wrong Radek there. :)

probably pay for it or write into there contract . . Ad reel is nice , but I am also very impressed with LW reel even though it was LW9 and not 10 , but meh either way some outstanding work congratulations to all involved , you should be very proud . .

my only critique is that there was not enough game assets / shots . .

Agreed, that shot was amazing.

I also liked it on the reel when the boy flamed-on!

now if you get someone to edit it, that would be awesome!
Geez, it's a trade show loop, not a demo reel for getting a job!

As a 3D artist that uses Lightwave daily on major feature films, it's almost impossible to get assets, including final shots, from the big studios. The studio I work for informed me that I would have to file written, formal requests to the legal department of the film studios just to get raw shots, assest, final shots, etc. just for usage on my reel.

And then there's all the non-disclosure that you have to agree to. So you can't talk about it either... IMO this has a lot to do with why you never hear about Lightwave being used on features.

The reel is excellent and the editing is excellent. Hey Oliver, ever been to a SIGGRAPH and actually seen product demo reels? This fits right in with the big boys.

Great work Newtek!

I have to concur. I go to trade shows all over the world and see a lot of booth videos (and create/edit motion graphics myself for events). This is top notch. At Siggraph 2010, Newtek by far had the best assortment of demo reels and presentations. I walked around the LA Convention center a few times, and each time I hit the Newtek booth I was immediately drawn in by the visuals — that's what you're looking for.

Almost every other vendor had glorified PowerPoint (or outright PowerPoint), software GUI, or just fixed signage.

NT did a good work this year at SIGGRAPH. This reel goes beyond the "we can make robots and spaceships", a long time required change. Kudos!
