View Full Version : Bump not showing up?

Hi guys.

I just tried creating a bump texture created from a noise channel and in the texture display, it appears, but when I render, it doesn't. It's just plain smooth grey.

There's no set color, just grey, but the bump is nowhere to be seen.

Why is this?

Too little data, attach object so we can test it..

Maybe you have plugged material- they might override bump vector settings..

Sorry.

Ok here's a snapshot of my screen.

The image on the right is the rendered image, the shader nodes on the left is the shader... ignore the add function. That has something to do with the color and I disconnected that one.

That big gray thing in the image is what that texture is... well it's suppose to be bumpy like it shows in the shader but it's not. I do have the node editor check box checked in the surface window and I have bump turned on and up... but it's still not working.

Any ideas?

Yes but those were clearly invisible ;) wasn't sure about the screen-shot ;) :D

ahhh prolly a scale issue. add a scaler node in between the bump I/O

I tried putting the Scalar node to the noise's bump and then sending the noise's bump to the channel bump... but no dice. I tried putting it at both lower and higher numbers.

Could it have something to do with the size of my scene?

post the obj and scene file and ill have a look at it.
