i want to know that ... if i make workstation of video toaster with Intel D850MV or D850MB (Mother board),2GB Processor, 2GB ram , 80 GB Maxtor HDD.
will video toaster perform best or not...with this configurations?
I need suggestion for this .. any body can tell me that what machine will best for video toaster performance...

That should work as a minimum system. But, VT always performs best with the maximum systems! :) VT performance is directly proportional to the speed of the host system.
One EIDE drive will be enough to record video, and playback a single stream - maybe two streams of video. So, if you are not doing multi-layer effects, or don't mind rendering, then you'll be fine with the system you mentioned.

I'm running a on that very mobo with VT2
Using a 1.7 ghz P4, 1 gig of ram, a 40 gig system drive,
and an Escalade 6400 ide board with 4 60gb ibm deskstars.

Works fine for the last couple of years but I plan on using another system for VT3. I just haven't decided yet.

The 850 is an older mobo and many changes have taken place that VT3 will take advantage of.
