View Full Version : Zbrush + Lightwave issue

Zbrush displacement maps works fine in lightwave for non animated models. I have now a problem with animated models that is:

Displacement Node requires sub-D order set to FIRST

So this is terrible for animation, once the deformation will not be good for low poly characters and this requires a heavy geometry to prevent bad bones deformation.

So, what's necessary to have displacement maps in animated characters inside lightwave?

Or the only way is to replace the model using a heavy one?

Any help?

Apply it via a node.
Search the forum: Lino was talking about exactly this topic and how to get it to work.

This is only an issue when using MDD baked animation on a character. For using displacments on a boned/morf'd character it works fine, and always has, for all the time LWs had the ability to do nodal displacement.

Set the object subdiv order to after bones, set the nodal displacement order to before world displacement.
