We recently purchased LiveText2. I see how you can add a live clock to a graphic, however, I can't figure out how to create a timer which counts down. I would like to be able add a 15 Min countdown timer for each quarter of Football that coincides with the game clock. Is there a way to do this or do I need to purchase the Kris Gurrad Scoreboard Skins?

Current time/date functions in LT2 are pretty basic - no countdown (nor start/stop) capabilities.

If all you want is the clock, you may be able to base that off of John Perkins & Chen's ToasterScripts. He is referring to the ToasterCG, but the same thing should work in LiveText.

You could also consider shooting the clock on the field with a camera and placing it on screen with a LiveSet.

Of course, my Football skin has a lot more than just the clock and it comes with spiffy graphics :)

As a user of Kris' skins, I can attest that they are pretty slick and Kris' support is outstanding.

A note of caution....

Once you use his skins, viewers will assume that his clock is in "exact" synch with the scoreboard clock at your respective venue. If there are controversial plays that have anything to do with the clock, you will be in the thick of the discussion. It might be wise to warn the coaching staff or even the fans, that "your" clock is nt necessarily in synch with the official clock.

Football is much easier to keep in synch than basketball.

Great product.

Interfaces into scoreboards like Daktronics and Fair-Play are another discussion all together.

Hi

We just wrote a little application for countdowns and other timers on the screen. Some sports count up or down and there are always lots of other oddities needed.

This is great! Exactly what I was looking for but when I put it into LiveText 2, it doesn't update in the tricaster.

It will count down in livetext but not on the tricaster.

any ideas?

You probably need to add a SendToLive() command anywhere there is an Update() command to make that work.
