Is there a new list out somewhere for all of the electronic scoreboards that the newly fashioned LT2 & DataLink is compatible with?

Great question so I'll attach myself to this thread to catch any answers :)

The official list of supported devices has not changed since DataLink first appeared until now, sorry.

So to be clear, the new version of DataLink will only connect to the same devices as the older version?

If any support for any new devices was added, they definitely forgot to tell me. I think any other reports a more coincidental than official.

So any Daktronics scoreboard will work since it says it works with Daktronics? That is what I was looking for a list of Daktronics score boards that NewTek knows for sure work.

Jose,

Be advised that Datalink will NOT work with all Daktronics scoreboard controllers, despite the generalization that is given in the documentation. Many Daktronics controllers do not have an RS-232 port, and those that do typically are already being used for other pressbox equipment. Furthermore, each model has slightly different protocols, and from I have heard (granted, it is anecdotal) many models do not provide the protocols that Datalink requires.

Daktronics also advised my school that plugging any third party device in to a scoreboard controller would void the controller's warranty.

Bottom line: there is a lot of ambiguity on just what models it works with, and in my opinion Newtek and Daktronics are not on the same page with what can be plugged in to their controllers.

We are using a Fair-Play / TransLux scoreboard with the MP-7x (70-72) controller and its working great. (with LT v2.0)

We use LTv2.0 an pull the feed off of the RS-232 port on the controller.

Zach,
I am waiting for the client to get back to me so that I can ask the model. Then I'll double check with tech support before going further.
SportsJunkie,
Thank you for the info.

Thanks for the info guys,

I just bought LiveText2

Where do I find DataLink?
Also can I import all the work I've done on the VT that was title templates into LiveText2? All it allows me to import is .cg files, but I want all the TTL's that I've made.

Is there a tutorial on how to use DataLink and LT2?
