If you've ever gotten into, or known anyone that has gotten into RC cars as a hobby, 299 is considered to be pretty cheap.

not bad....not bad at all.

im sure i could controll it with my nokia (n97 mini) as well...ill keep this toy in mind, as it is not impossible i could find commercial use of it too...

it would be perfect for taking photos (after attaching a good, lightweight camera to it) from all kinds of difficult to get into perspectives.

It has two cameras...one facing forward and one facing down...footage is streamed to any of your i-products :)

ps....not sure about the camera quality....but it looks big enough to handle the weight of a compact digital camera??

I would imagine you'd be hard pressed to find a high quality camera (or even good quality for that matter) that would be light enough and symmetrical enough to attach to the unit without disturbing the stability of it. Considering what that the thing is made of and it only weighs a bit over a pound, I don't think those props have enough thrust to lift much more than itself.

However, just think if you attached a balloon to it to help offset the weight of the camera. That could work. You would think you could still control it fairly well. Of course, the cool factor would go from 10 to a 2 instantly... Unless the balloon was a wicked black. Pink is surely out.

EDIT: I'll buy 10 of them if this chick comes with it...

Is this thing quiet? Looking forward to all the stories of people using it to look in windows.

that video is shameless, but pretty clever for marketing.

Pffff. that's an RC for children, i want this baby, and i don't care it doesn't need a shiny glorified phone as controller : http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1198920/r_c_mi_24_hind_helicopter_turbine_powered/

Flying it indoors is probably a law suit waiting to happen though.
