hello
i was wondering if there was a way to, some how temporarily parent one item to another.
for example, if a ninja is running with a sword on his back and then stops and wields the sword, you would want it whilst he is running to be parented to the body and then when he wields it, you want it to be parented to his hand.
if any one gets what i mean haha
thank you in advance

you can use a null object and the "same as item option" in the motion panel. Or use the plugin/modifier in the motion panel called parenter. It does some dynamic parenting.

Or you could just have Chuck Norris play the ninja. In which case parenting is not needed at all. (or even the sword)

3DGFXStudios can you go into more detail how to use "same as item option" in the motion panel. I've used Parenter but not the one you mention, and it sounds very useful.
