I hope I am in the right room for this...can anyone tell me how to put child joints in a charcter, I tired to put inbed the joints in my character in layout but the bones will not move to put them where they need to be to make my body move.

I think you need to just dig up a simple bone or rigging tutorial. There has to be plenty of them. You seem to be stuck on the basic workflow of rigging.

You can create skelegons in modeler, and set them up there, then select that object and use 'convert skelegons' option in layout. Then 'record rest position', and they should deform the object they are a child to.

You can also just create bones in layout. You just can't grab child bones and move it where you want though.. Position them by rotating and adjusting 'rest length'. Once you have the bones made, you can adjust them using the 'joint move' and 'tip move' options in Setup tab.

Anyways, find some tutorials.. then you can watch how to do it all.
