I don't know what else to call it but we've all seen these before. I'm wondering how to make an image like what this guy has used in his cellphone wallpaper.

What I've done now is created a 2 point poly chain that's jittered a bit, then moved it around in Layout and I'm using a ton of Photoreal motion blur passes with the Blur length cranked way up. It's not very bright though, in fact you can barely see it against the background. Any thoughts?

Maybe something similar to the Germinator plug-in would do what you want.

Interesting thread but it's 4 years old. Is that plugin still around, if it was ever finished? I'm having some nice luck with motion blur now. Still playing.

OK good thanks,I wasn't sure it would work on modern LW versions, but now I see it will.

that image reminds me of the tutorial Aurora created a few years back. I think he called it a whoretrend or something along those lines.

This might be of interest as well.

Yeah it get directed to a well I don't know what you would call it. But any who there is a word qui. That is the link for the pdf. I am thinking he is using a counter to see how many access the pdf. But anyway it is a weird redirect.

Man there was a flash app that did it in a browser. I wish I could remember what it was called. I'd still prefer to see if I could do it natively in LightWave.

I'm still playing around, they take a loong time to render, this one was about 45 mins and it's still grainy.

Now so do I so I don't lose it again. The LW renders still look nicer but this is insanely fast.

I remember Aurora doing something great with this...I don't remember the specifics though, but he would be the one to ask. :)

Try rendering EXRs and play with levels in post.

Some old test with sprites, hi blur length. Applying post tools like 'erode' and 'glass' to voxels can make for interesting effects-
