View Full Version : Using a dynamic object to trigger animation

I was watching the Discovery channel the other day and saw an interesting effect I want to try and mimic with light wave.

There is essentially an array of cubes, and they rotate to reveal their logo. My question is in regards to getting the cubes to rotate more organically, in other words not all at the same time, without having to individually keyframe each cube.

I was wondering if there is a way to use a dynamic object to let each cube know when it should rotate. That way you could just move it around triggering only the blocks you want to rotate and so on.

I have almost everything set up now. A wall made up of 100 blocks, lighting and so on. I do have one easy question to go a long with the harder one mentioned above. I do not get to use lightwave enough to remember everything I have learned in tutorials. I need to move the pivot points for the objects, all 100 of them, from the origin to their center. Is there an easy way to do this?
