Not sure exactly what this is in that my PC is down at the moment and I can't experiment but I figured I would pass it along. It was forwarded from my uncle who is usually pretty good about staying on top of this stuff.

Does this make any difference to using 3d packages really or not? Most of our work is being done on the GPU when messing in the viewport, or the CPU when it's rendering, and I always get full CPUs when i'm rendering!

from what I can tell, it's just a way of having all cores working at all times...which, if true, is extremely inefficient and just shortening the life of the CPU for extremely little (if any at all) gain.

Yeah, i think you're right. Sounds to me like there are a bunch of Windows users who hate Windows having any control over their system.

If I ever get into sound production I might come back to this thread, but can't imagine that'll happen too soon!
