View Full Version : please, lwsn.exe needs to show a render percentage

I guess I have asked this before, but here goes again.
I am the only one using lightwave in a company where everybody else uses max or xsi. And it was a struggle to make lightwave use autodesk's backburner for render management, but now I have it working and it works ok.

The only problem now is that when my boss asks me "how long are your renders going to take?" or.."I could use that computer, is your render finishing?"....I can't say anything. because lwsn doesn't have a render percentage.

3dsmax (or vray, I have no idea) has the preview open, xsi shows a percentage, and lightwave doesn't show anything.

It would be great if we could have some information of what lwsn is doing and how much time it is taking.

I don't know how other render controllers do it, but Tequila Scream has a render percentage. I don't know if ButterflyNetRender has that but it should. Maybe they are not using information from lwsn but just doing simple math. (time per frame * remaining frames = time left)

I don't know that two, but would be nice to have the same estimated time left info that lightwave shows in the preview window while it's rendering. I know it's not the most accurate but it helps sometimes.

while we're here, i'd also like if LWSN pcould feed a preview. It could even be not realtime but at custom rate - i.e. every 20 sec it could spit out a small preview of what it's doing, so BNR (or other managers) could show it.
