Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if it's possible to refer to the current item in an expression? Something like:

this.pos(Time).p

where "this" would be the item the expression is attached to?

Thanks

To my knowledge there is no such thing in LW native expression system(s). They can only evaluate to numerical values, item ids are not valid. The only predefined constant value is VALUE... which is the keyframed value of the channel the expression is applied to.

Relativity however, has some constants for items, in this case it would be SELF.

Thanks for confirming. I was trying to do a mexican wave type of thing with some 3D tiles. So I thought an expression following an null applied to each tile with time lag based on the current items position is what I needed.

I've found another way (with help here) to do what I want using the displacement map node editor and a plugin called DPkit. I have to say DPKit is awesome.
