Hey guys, I was wondering what kind of trees do you archviz guys use the most in your projects, or what species would you like to have for LW?

Interesting question- I'm sure most use what looks good ;) ..

I'll put together a list if most commonly (globally) used street and garden varieties if you like ..

Many here use frog, onyx, or p. olas' plugin.

The species depends on the location. I specialize in Hotels, so It depends on the location of the hotel. I'm no tree expert I just use what I find that looks similar to the ones on that location. Lots of palm trees tho.

I use basically 3 LODs for trees, far away trees are 2d clipped mapped.
Mid distance ones have leaves and branches as image maps.
And the ones near the camera have leaves wich vary from 2 to 5 polygons some have images on to them, others don't. Render time is important for me so I always try to find trees that look good and are low poly.

Here's a previous thread that has a lot of good tree model information in it. Hope this helps.
