What would be the minimum hardware requirements for running Lightwave decently? Like processor speed, video card, RAM, etc. Thanks!

My humble opinion:

- any Processor from 800 GHz is fast enough (meaning you can even still use older PCs)
- about 512 meg of RAM are good enough for everyday animation stuff, if you only model you can have as little as 128 MB
- any graphics card with some OpenGL acceleration will do (even an old TNT 2)

These requirements may increase drastically with LW 8, however, if you want to use some of the power features. Having more power at your disposal can never be a bad thing, but buying even the most average PC in the 800-900 Euro/ USD range will keep you on the save side for at least the next 2 years.

Great! I have-

-AMD Barton 2500+ (which I will overclock to 2.2 GHz)
-512 MB PC3200 Corsair RAM (will get another 512 stick)
-Abit NF7-S

I just wanted to know what type of system could run it decently, and it sounds like mine meets the requirements. How long would you guess my render times would be (relatively)?ty

Anywhere between .001 seconds and 2 weeks. :D
