I can't seem to remember...

Wasn't there a way to eliminate Gimbal Lock in the perspective window in Modeler?

A shortcut, or something with a viewport reset?...

I used to know it, and just can't remember it today...

Thanks!:help:

Alt-click and drag should release it?

Thank you for your reply!

Already tried that, didn't seem to do it.

I swear I heard of another method that worked?...

I also plan on purchasing one of your Node tutorials from Kurv in the near future!

Thanks!

Go to an empty layer and click "a" (shortcut for "Fit All" on the View Tab). That should zero out the rotations in all layers.

Hey guys, glad to help. This was one of the first tricks I learned in LightWave, but, I don't use it anymore since using the rotation shortcuts. This eliminates the problem, as you suggested James.

When Alt-click/dragging in the perspective viewport imagine and inner ring and an outer ring. Dragging in the middle of the viewport rotates on different axis' than dragging in the outer edge.

It isn't obvious. I didn't know about that trick until I read it somewhere.

I really want to use alt drag, but it has awful rotation, and also it seems to snap certain angles

I'd just want it to behave like the standard rotation button in the top right corner
