when using sub-patch, what are ways to make the character look "normal"?

Still being pretty vague in your questions, but I'm assuming you mean poly flow as it relates to animation and natural deformation of the character's extremities (i.e. arm movement, legs, etc..).

Mainly a natural poly flow that contours to body movements, but weight maps also have a lot to do with it.

what i mean is how to make an object or character look like what it suppose to be?
