View Full Version : Spinquad attack now on Newtek

Whoa... I was just reading through the Spinquad hijack attack thread when as I clicked on the third page of posts Microsoft Security Essentials jumped up on screen telling me that there is a suspicious script trying to run coming from Newtek. Has that virus infected the Newtek server?
Anyone else seeing this? Carefull as you go. Not good.

Just tried again this time on my main Desktop PC and all was OK. I rebooted my laptop and tried to access the third page of posts regarding the Spinquad attack where once again Microsoft Security Essentials threw up a banner which said " Warning the site Newtek contains elements from the Spinquad site that may harm your computer ......". I think Security essentials on my laptop has flagged the spinquad connection with this thread as I actually visited the Spinquad Site using my laptop and encountered the virus problem myself whereas my desktop PC hasn't been anywhere near spinquad.

Not sure, but be careful anyway.

There is a vulnerability in Vbulletin, which is fixed in the latest patch so it needs to be applied...
