View Full Version : Need help/advise subpatch and fur texture.

I am having trouble working in subpatch mode. example. I made an arm starting at the shoulder. When I got down to the fingers, the pinky and thumb ended up as a triangle shape. As hard as I tried I could not make it square.

Any tuts or advise on working with subpatch would be very helpful.

What's a easy way to make a fur texture on animal without using Fiber FX.

Thank you for your time.

I guess this is of help for you:
Richard Culver's LightWiki Fundamentals of Subpatch Modeling (http://www.lightwiki.com/Fundamentals_of_Subpatch_Modeling).
It's just a great resource. Covers nearly everything. (It's quite a long tut)

for the 2nd:
there still is Worley Sasquatch (http://www.worley.com/), but it's commercial and probably not up to date, but it's generally said of being capable to output quite a good quality.
Sorry, don't know any other solutions for LW.

You're welcome!
For Subpatch modeling there's also southerngfx (http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/general/tutorials/enter3d/primer.php), formerly known as "subpatchmodeling.com" (domain is being sold).
And good tutorials are also on guerrillacg.org/ (http://www.guerrillacg.org/).
