Hi,

I just found this on Blender Artists:

Ramen (RamenHD) free open source VFX nodal compositor needs your help (http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=180562)

Ramen HD Web Page (http://ramenhdr.sourceforge.net/)

Ramen HD Blog (http://ramenhdr.blogspot.com/)

I didn't tried yet, but looks like a really interesting project.

I downloaded this as soon as the Windows (64bit) build was available. It loads footage fairly quickly, and plays back nicely from RAM. Setting up nodes is intuitive, and the results are pretty nice.

Could use some additional improvements. I hope the primary developer get's some coding assistance, as he's said this is a hefty project, and he could use some help.

Thanks for the info... I'll have to check it out. Looks like they have a 64bit OSX version too.

Ramen was started as OSX-only compositor. The developer then decided to add Linux support and a short time ago added Windows too. I would have liked it more when he would had put all his efforts into the OSX build. I guess he expects more help from Win-Developers. Wouldn't be too embarrassed when the OSX version falls behind in the future. :(

Been working more with Ramen. It's turning out to be a very nice application. I can see it being useful for the freelancer or in a small shop, for assembling multipass composites, some lite roto work, and for the occasional green/blue screen shot.

Did this tutorial:

Greenscreen with Ramen (http://home.comcast.net/~787kfillmore/ramen_greenscreen_basic.html)

and got this result:
