Some of the effect shots looked badly fit into the plate (lighting and compositing are off). Generally it seems really corny. But what the heck? I am sure lots of people will enjoy it!

Normally I wouldn't go near these kinds of movies. But I laughed so hard at the trailer, I just have to watch it now.

I prefer the Human Centipede.

Yeah, the trailer for that one looked hilarious. I'd hate to be the middle man in that creature.

Saw the human centipede. Didn't hate it.

Sharktopus looks terrible. How did that guy who was the mob boss in The Dark Knight fall so far as to be in this movie?

How did that guy who was the mob boss in The Dark Knight fall so far as to be in this movie? That's Eric Roberts (Julia's brother) ...

At the end it says "Coming Soon" ... My first thought was .. god I hope not.

I'm betting the first week of Aug, Shark week baby!!!

I dang well better get my SyFy back by then! This one will have to go on DVD along with 'Mega Paranoia' and 'Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus' They're the best dang comedies!

Its amazing to me when anyone bothers to state the obvious by labeling something like this as a 'bad movie.' Its Corman, it's "B" monster T&A camp, its produced between Dinoshark and Dinocroc vs Supergator, its supposed to be bad, hopefully in the smallest sense of John Waters good bad (other bad movies are just humorlessly bad bad). I'd rather rent this than pretentious FX-porn like Sorceror's Apprentice, Prince of Persia, or anything Twilight.

Great comments, Mr Rid and Megalodon. Take these movies for what they are; entertainment. Be entertained!

Hey, I LOVE my Sat night SyFy movies. I actually hate it when they have a 'real' movie on.

looks like a fun movie to me

The CG was all done in LW, btw.

07-23-2010, 06:22 AM
Thanks for the heads up on the use of LW. It's nice these films are made, Hollywood takes itself way too serious sometimes. I think critics have the word 'fun' removed from their vocabularies in many cases.

Hollywood takes itself way too serious sometimes.
To my mind, these types of films also take themselves too seriously. It seems like you could produce movies of such silliness and hilarity that it would spawn a new genre. Think Airplane! + surrealist art.

But SyFy or CyfEye or ScFi or whatever they're calling themselves now insist on having horror movies. Monsters vs. tiny and extremely incompetent paramilitary force. Monsters vs. bikinis. Monsters vs. incorrigible rogue and Dr. Hot Chick.

I'm actually watching this now ... holy crap it's hilarious. SyFy channel.

This was Asylum again right? I was pretty amazed to hear they typically put out one movie a month. So that's something special if they get paid to do that.

09-26-2010, 03:54 AM
Yep, Asylum are a cult following thing, they actually have a serious fan base for "B-Movies". :)
At least they don't pretend to be anything other than they are, kudos for that.

09-26-2010, 07:22 AM
Kudos to the genre. There is the occasion that a B movie is entertaining.

09-27-2010, 07:40 AM

Gotta love cheesy B's to break up the all too serious movie making industry.

I laughed so hard, can't wait for part two although there was no "egg" shot at the end to naturally lead into it.

09-27-2010, 07:44 AM
"Egg shot." Heh. That should go into the lexicon of clichés.

But how could this creature reproduce, with two mouths and no... um... undercarriage?

Not to mention its wildly varying size... something that would tear apart any normal animal.

But how could this creature reproduce, with two mouths and no... um... undercarriage?

No you're thinking of mammals lol!

The Wait is Over!

1. New type of monster with two animal names combined... check!
2. Movie name contains "vs."... check!
3. Casper van Dien... check!
4. Dr. Hot Chick... check!
5. Bad, self-referential humor... well, that's a new one, but it could hardly hurt.
