Today at the VidCon 2010 conference, we announced support for videos shot in 4K, meaning that now we support original video resolution from 360p all the way up to 4K.

Yeah, it probably will look worse than a HD video does on Vimeo. Resolution is not everything. Also, it is interesting that they are introducing 4K resolution while at the same time downsizing older videos to a pile of compression artifact garbage.
They better reduce the compression a bit instead of upping the res.

Wonder when they will support RAW uploading for the viewer to adjust exposure and white balance to suit their needs....

this 4k thing is a gimmick, for now. after how may of you have a means of wacthing 4k video.

it's nearly there , you can already edit your videos inside YT , using googles editor . .
