Hello,

i'm just discovering the wonderful world of the LW plugin and script.
I was thinking about that sooner or later the new LW Core will come out.
Should be more easy to write/port the actual various plugins/utility that we have for the current LW.

What are the plugins do you like the most and you want to have in LW Core also?

Well, hopefully there will be many plug-ins made obsolete by CORE but not for a while on most.
First choice would be LWCAD and supposedly that's already being worked on and will be free to current 3.x users.
Second would be Fprime but we already have an Fprime type preview renderer in CORE.
HD Instance- and again, hoping that CORE does render instancing like that at some point in the near future.

I would like to see a Sasquatch/hair plug-in for CORE. If Newtek provides a solution, it's going to have to be better then FiberFx.

it doesnt make much sense to consider plugins for a program which features are unknown.

Since LW 3D doesn't reach good UV mapping capabilities even with the help of all the plugins, it would be good to have something that would feel modern, like (free) TexTools for 3DSM: http://www.renderhjs.net/textools/

I'm probably causing frustrations with this, but based upon the tech sheet I get a feeling that there won't be robust UV tools for CORE ?

integration of Maestro or something similar to messiah rigging and animation plugins

They'll be better then what we currently have in Lightwave. With CORE UV's, you'll be able to pin, relax, stitch and pack UV's. What specific features are you looking for?

Seneca's Super UV Tools have many great time savers:

- flip buttons
- apply batch UVs
- move buttons for very ftiny movements
- center UVs

There has to be an absolutely rock solid and quick peeler tool.
The prementioned TexTools has an awesome solution in which you can select end loops:

Symmetry:

Rectify (can really save a lot time and nerves with hard surface stuff):

And then a move tool that can grab multiple points with falloff.

And btw, one thing that is often clumsy is unwelding/detaching/splitting geometry for UV mapping tasks. There could be a button on the same page that would ease the process (unweld borders of selection or something).
