View Full Version : Fine dust

Hey everyone,

Here, I use Lightwave for 1 year only for the display photo-realistic image.
For an application client, I need to achieve the following things and I am a bit lost:

1 / I need to decompose an object into fine dust - dust that falls to the ground -

2 / I also need to decompose an object into a fine dust to build another object.

I am desperately looking for a tutorial, without success until now!

There are surely some of you enough to give me some stalled tracks?

Thank you in advance

if you can, use a composit program render out the objects seperatly and destroy them in after effects, fusion or perhaps particle illusion.

depends also on how complex your objects are, you could try and divide them enough so you have a lot of vertices, and in modeler create morphs with jitter and vortex deformers.

You can of course use a lot of particles sticking to the surfaces of the objects to and use winds etc, but this kind of task isnīt that easy to get
to the point that it will look as very fine dust.

You will need a lot of points/particles for it, it probably helps if you are working with 64 bit systems.

thanks very much Michael for test on vimeo and explanations.

I'm in 64bits bi-Xeon - 12Go RAM and i 'm going to try jittered points, vortex tool and morpher in Layout.

Thanks again

this might also help to get some general ideas
