Okay, so I have a city scene in an upcoming movie, which needs to crumble realistically. I need to A) model the city, and B) get textures for the city. What i need help with is B.

Does anyone know a good modern city texture resource? Like, textures w/bump maps, and stuff. it'd also be cool to know the general translucency and specular values etc. to make the textures look cool. Its for episode 2 of my series "The Final Battle" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfR9YksGSFE).

what kind of city you have to model? if its contemporary skycraper you can use Vroom for the windows.

If you're using Lightwave, you're probably going to need help with the "crumbling" part too.

Yeah, probably. I figured i'd just use Hard FX for that.

And nah, I wanna model the city myself :)

Update: First look at said city in early stages.

Heh. With a thread title like that, there are probably people in black vans watching your house right now...

Study movies like T2, when you study something like that, you see it's not perfect, but the first time you saw it I'll bet it blew you away.

Great detail is fine for close up shots of disastaporn, but for an overall shot you'll want to rely on maps for allot of stuff, like transparency maps for things like framework and broken windows...unless you have a render farm or months of free time.
