wow... at this pace you may manage to get the entire first page of threads :)

what is the difference between lightwave 9.5 and 9.6?

First google hit:

9.5 benefits link on same page. Compare them. Does it matter btw?

which is more helpful in mastering lightwave books or instuctional help?

Depends on quality of both, just dive into all the videos of the Newtek site and Inside LW 9 book and go from there. Just try.

which creates better images and animation a less version lightwave (7.0-8.0) and a hi-powered computer or higher lightwave (9.6) and a less than powerful computer?

I think the more able person. After that a higher version of LW with a lower pc if budget is short and time available. Then again, a decent pc can be had quite cheap.

is an academic lightwave v.9.6 the same as a full-version lightwave 9.6? in other words, is the $295 the same as the $895?

I suppose so, if you're eligible for the academic version. Thought it was 195$ btw. Ask NT I'd say.

what can someone new to lightwave model to make modeler more easier to use?

Bit hard to say, plenty of plugins around. Just work with it for a while and see what could suit you better.
