View Full Version : Nodal surface exporter / loader node?

Hi There

I have a situation where I have 40 odd renders of different text objects to achieve - each with the same defined nodal surface. What I would like to do is have the nodal surface of each text object reference a single external file (residing on hard disc independent of the scene file) containing the defined nodal textural setup, so that if I want to change the nodal texture setup across the whole lot, then I only need to change one instance ie that which is being referenced.

(This is a design principle that I believe is known as 'separation of concerns' amongst programmers)

The best way I can think of to achieve this might be some sort of (group) exporter node to create the external file, and then a loader node in each text object to reference the external file...?

Can anybody point me towards such a thing?
Or suggest an alternative way to achieve this?
