We did it for a music video too. I have some threads about doing lw cg projections and some people helped out. :D

That reminds me of what they did here in 2005 where they took photos of our (Philadelphia's) City Hall, photoshopped the pictures, then projected them back onto the building from the exact same spot where it was shot.

Probably not standard video projectors ;)

I wonder how big the sweet spot is for viewing. Do you have to be near the projector? Or farther away than the projector, and not too far to the side?

I think it depends of the depth of the building. If the building is almost flat you can cover a whole block, like someone did last year here using the presidential office in downtown:
