This time looks much more like Spartacus or Gladiator, wich it wasn't what the first one pointed so much too. But i don't know the story of Cartago so...

Nevertheless, very impressive work. Thanks for sharing

Yes, everything is done in lightwave. only some parts of the modeling have been realized in another software.

In this post you can see the first trailer and there is more information about the production. :-)

Pretty cool stuff! Lots of work on a relatively short timeframe. :)

I assume you guys are using HDInstance for the crowdshots with the soliders?

Ok.. I just finished reading the first thread about this project and I'm very surprised you guys havn't made use of one of the best instancers in the industry to take care of all those characters.

In this project has worked a very small team (only four people), we have to realize a minimum of one minute of animation per week (two animators), so one of our goals was to use only Lightwave and his native tools to optimize the production time.
HDI is great, but using MDD in characters and duplicate it by blocks or by particles works fine. Only one animator is able of put 1000 characters (previously animated and the MDD generated) in a few hours, and render is faster than HDI.:)

We completed the film last year. The film is being shown in some cinemas in Spain and will soon be able to see on tv, at this time producers are dubbing the film into English and Italian, and they are negotiating with international tv channels.

Thanks for your interest, will keep you informed
