All,
I have a couple of questions concerning graphics cards.
Over at MacRumors forum is a discussion about using a PC graphics card and flashing it with the appropraite software so that it runs on a Mac.
Link to discussion is here

The advantages appear to be:
Cheaper cards
More variety
More VRAM.

Would the cards under discussion (4890 Sapphire Vapor-X, for example) provide any advantage for Lightwave and general 3D work under OS X?
I realize that the discussion is about enhanced performance for games but would the same be true for general 3D software?
Is it worth the effort?
This seems a fairly complex issue ( at least for me :) ) and would appreciate some advice form the experts here.
Thanks.
Anil

My opinion is:
Just spend a little more money on your mac pro. It expensive in the first place so why waste a lot of time figuring out how to get a pc card working with no driver support.

Plus it will probably void your warranty, if the PC card causes any issues.
