I'm having a strange compositing problem with a simple test scene I'm working on. For some reason the first frame of the animation is good and then in the rest of the scenes my "shadow plane" gets a lot darker than it's supposed to be. When I go to the middle of this animation and render a single frame it looks fine, but for some reason it just won't work when I render an animation.
Here's a link to youtube to demonstrate what I mean:

If anyone has had this problem before, any help would be appreciated.

I can't view the anim at the moment. But it sounds like you have an envelope active on intensity whose TCB arrangement causes the setting to float.
Some kind of TCB fix would be in order if you were to find this to be the case.

Excuse my n00bidity, but could you explain what TCB is?

Tension Continuity Bias.
It's in the Graph editor. Press Ctrl-g for access to it in the viewports.

This doesn't seem to be the problem.
