Might be of interest for core developers, there´s a demo available, but
I havent had the time to test it.

No waiting for vue renders.

Does'nt seem to generate high enough detail for use in true fotorealistic skies. But it looks awsome for reltime engines. (I havent tried it so its just a first impression of videos on there site.)

well the thing is, if it can provide such fast approximation of how the sky, clouds and lighting would look, that would help immensly for designing and setting up the scene.

Once that is done, it would of course need a generator to provide high quality final renders that
iterates the scene to such extent that it would match vue renders.

Would be cool to see someone with XSI testing it out. Perhaps they have some kind of "high quality setting" for rendertime.
It sure have potentials..

Impressive.

Can't run the demo under Win 7 though, missing dll problem, way too tired to fix it. Shame.

Nearest realtime clouds I've seen to this (apart from the dx10 fog demos - very gfx card intensive) is Real Environment Extreme (REX 2.0) for Microsoft FSX. Rex uses the underlying code in FSX though which is really quite old now. It was excellent for it's day (fsx / fs9 cloud system) but suffered from clouds popping in and out of existence as well as weird occasional rotations.

Something like this (fsx cloud) is possible in Lightwave without too much effort. It's not Ogo-Taiki but for real time rendering it could do at a pinch. Have a look at this video to see how they're made.

Here's some screen grabs (FSX + REX 2.0)
