View Full Version : Real Working Tank Treads

I played around with making some tank treads. They're not perfect. But they're not just a morph either. The wheels rotate, and the friction is driving the tread belt. The tread belt is a ClothFX object that does not render. The tread you do see is using FX_HardLink.

I'd like to figure out how to put in on the ground so that it it propels itself forward. Or by keyframing the vehicle moving forward, the friction/traction keeps the belt in motion (like pushing a toy tank).

And this is a just for fun project.

This is what i have done..

150,000 poly crawlertrack..

And I handles well, using Relativaty Morph ..

And using an Old Tut...
